Once upon a time there was a dog called Rover.  Rover grew up with eight other dogs - three girls and five boys. One frosty day in December, Rover and his siblings were outside playing. He looked up to the sky and saw so many birds. He wished he could fly too. He went over to tell the robins about it.

“I know what I want to ask for Christmas this year! I want to be able to fly with you guys,” said Rover, proud of himself for thinking about something good to say.

“Wow! I have never heard about a dog flying,” said the oldest Robin.

“Just because no one has done it yet, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done,” replied Rover.

“I hope Santa gives you what you want and you will be able to fly with us,” chirped the robin with the big red tummy.

“Me too,” nodded Rover. Rover got called in for dinner by his super nice owners.

It wasn’t long until it was Christmas Eve. Rover was in the back garden.

“I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve already,” said Rover.

“Yeah, let’s just hope Santa does not forget about you,” replied the robin.

That night, after Rover went to bed, he was woken up a big red jolly man. Rover thought it was a dream, so he let the man carry him outside.

Then Rover asked, “Are you real or am I dreaming?”

“HO, HO, HO!!!” laughed Santa, “Of course I am real! And I haven’t forgotten what you asked for.” Santa placed Rover on the big branch of the oak tree in the back garden.

 “Okay Rover, I want you to do three things:

Believe that you can do anything,

Believe in yourself,

Close your eyes and jump!”

Rover took a deep breath and jumped…
